Originally built in the 18th century to serve the tin miners of Dartmoor, The Warren House Inn has a long and fascinating history. The original building, once known as The New House, stood slightly further down the hill but was destroyed by fire. In 1845, the pub was rebuilt in its current location, and ever since, its fire has never gone out—burning continuously for nearly two centuries. The inn takes its name from the nearby rabbit warrens that once provided food and fur for the local mining community.
